Buy a cheap cheese grater, I'm going to get a new one where the whole thing is the larger hole. Use a Phillips screwdriver, stick it in the hole and bend out slightly with the shaft, you are going for a hole about double the size. Once you do that you have a hashbrown maker...congrats you are thinking like an engineer now.
